How long does a toilet replacement take?
A straight swap where the new suite lines up with the existing points takes a couple of hours. Older cottages with patched floors take longer, and we price that first.
Can you replace a toilet in an old cottage without wrecking the floor?
Most local cottages were built with timber floors and subfloor access, so we work through existing openings wherever possible, and any cut to the floor gets planned before the saw comes out.
Do you remove and take away the old suite?
Yes. The old pan, cistern, seat and packaging all go with us when we leave, and the bathroom gets left clean, dry and ready to use the same day.
Can a running cistern be fixed instead of replaced?
Often it can. Washers, valves and floats wear out and get replaced on their own. If the cistern is cracked or the internals are obsolete, a new suite usually makes more sense.
Will a new toilet cope with old earthenware sewer lines?
The pan itself is rarely the issue. What matters is the earthenware line it drains into, so we check flow during the job and flag anything worth a camera look.
